The lip slides horizontally and can stop at the required extension, creating a secure overlap with the vehicle bed.
Because the lip extends straight ahead without a wide swing arc, it can help reach beneath rear-edge cargo where clearance is limited.
The retracted lip can remain behind the loading-bay door, helping the door seal independently in suitable cold-storage and hygienic dock designs.
